ETS SHOT Show 2007 Report
Sponsored by Red Flare Emergency Supplies

SHOT Show 2007 Report logoOne of the very few good things I have to say about holding SHOT Show in Orlando is that it was a lot easier to get around the show with such empty aisles. It may have been a record year in terms of exhibitors, but attendance seemed like it was down as many usual attendees stayed away. I'll be glad to be back in Las Vegas next year, a sentiment that seemed to be shared with the vast majority of exhibitors and attendees. While Las Vegas Convention Center has its notable drawbacks and it was very convenient for me and my crew having the entire show in one large hall in Orlando, at least people want to attend in Las Vegas and Las Vegas is a whole lot more affordable.

Between launching Knife Rights and the increasing number of exhibitors of interest, there's no way I could cover SHOT Show myself and do it justice. Alan Romania kindly stepped in to cover Flashlights and Gear and Terril Hoffman served as our onsite photographer and also covered some of the Knife Manufacturers as well.

Because Orlando was sooooooooo much more expensive than Las Vegas, we owe a debt of gratitude to those generous ETS contributors who donated money to assist us and to Red Flare Emergency Supplies who rode to the rescue and ponied up some big bucks to sponsor our SHOT Show 2007 Report. Without Red Flare's generosity, you absolutely would not be reading this SHOT Show Report. Please keep those donations coming in; they help make this report and the rest of the good work we do possible.

Speaking of Knife Rights, the inital response to this new knife owners advocacy organization that was launched at SHOT Show was extremely positive. Yes, they really do want to take away your knives, just as they have in other parts of the word. If you are reading this report, odds are you are also a knife owner and quite likely you own more than one knife. You must visit the new Knife Rights web site and I hope you'll join us in fighting for a Sharper Future.

This SHOT Show Report is split into into three sections: Knives (including multi-purpose tools), Lights (including flashlights and headlamps) and Gear (covering everything except knives and lights).  Click on the link below to get to the section, or the links on the bottom of each of the section pages.

Please support Equipped To Survive with a tax-deductible donationAssembling this SHOT Show Report is a major undertaking and was especially expensive with the show in Orlando this year. Without the support provided by Red Flare we couldn't have done it. Please drop by their site and take advantage of their special deals for Equipped To Survive visitors. Please also consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Equipped To Survive Foundation if you find this report to be of value to you. The Equipped To Survive Foundation is a tax-exempt non-profit corporation that supports the continued operation and expansion of Equipped To Survive® and which allows me to attend shows such as this and report to you on the latest and greatest gear. In many cases Equipped To Survive® has been first by months to publicize new and exciting survival and preparedness gear. Again, donations are fully tax-deductible. Click here to make a tax-deductible donation or to find out more. Thanks very much for your support and consideration.
